EXAMPLES

After sharing my drawing of Baxter with family and friends, it occurred to me that there are many grieving parents, just like us, who deserve the joy of sharing their child’s picture. Only the families of children born in this way can understand how difficult it is - wanting to proudly show others your son or daughter, wanting to see more pictures, wanting to have something tangible when it feels like everything has vanished.

So in mid 2014 I made contact with SANDS Queensland, offering to do sketches for other families who had also lost their babies. With the help of two wonderful ladies named Kate and Lyndell I was able to start this process of giving back to families when they need it most.

While I never would of imagined I would become a stillbirth artist, I have been humbled by the response and the compassion of all of those people who have been involved. With each request for a sketch comes a mixture of sadness and empathy, nonetheless I am always deeply honoured to be a part of each family's trust.

Below are some examples of the work I have created to honour each baby and their family. Thank you to all the brave parents who have trusted me to draw their little ones and also to those families who have allowed me to use their sketches below.
